Google Play for Education was announced recently - much to our delight.
In essence, it takes away one of the biggest challenges we would have had to deal with - qualifying content. There are tens of thousands of educational apps on Google Play and the premise of Grit Learning is to align that content with structured learning outcomes. Google Play for Education will make a giant stride towards making content much more findable and usable. It also makes it easier to manage that content if you're an educator.
Some people have asked if this initiative makes what we are doing redundant. Far from it. Our focus is making learning easy and accessible to the under-privileged learner. These features (and those to come) are designed predominantly for high income learning environments and will unlikely make what we are doing redundant. On the contrary, it just saved us hundreds of hours to curate and keep track of content that is being release.
It is encouraging that Google is making serious investments into mobile learning, which opens the doors to millions of learners in places like Cambodia.
